Frosted Window Signs: Combining Privacy and Branding
Practical guidance from the team that surveys, makes and installs commercial signage. If you have a live project, we can help you choose the right route.
A frosted panel does not have to be purely functional. Cutting a logo, business name or simple directional information into a frosted panel turns a privacy measure into a piece of signage, without needing a separate sign fixed elsewhere on the glass. This is a common approach for ground-floor offices and consulting rooms where a plain nameplate would otherwise sit alongside privacy film as two separate items. This page covers how the two combine. Our frosted window film guide covers plain privacy options in more depth. We design combined frosted signage for businesses across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and London.

Designing frosting and signage as one piece of glass
The most common approach is a full or partial frosted panel with a clear-cut logo or text left un-frosted within it, so the branding reads clearly against the frosted background. Alternatively, a contrasting cut vinyl logo can sit on top of a frosted panel in a different finish or colour. Either way, planning the sign and the privacy film together from the outset gives a cleaner result than adding a separate sign to already-frosted glass later.
