Shopfront and fascia signs

Fabricated sign trays, printed panels and built-up lettering for shops, restaurants, offices and industrial units, with advertisement consent checked before you commit. See our guide for more detail.

What it is and where it suits

A fascia sign is the panel across the top of your frontage. It does more work than any other sign you own: it identifies the premises, carries the brand at street level, and on a high street it is the main reason somebody walks in rather than past.

For most commercial premises the right answer is a fabricated aluminium tray, powder coated and either printed, vinyl applied or fitted with individually mounted letters. The tray hides the fixings and the wall behind it, gives a clean return at the edges, and can be removed and refaced at the end of a lease without damaging the building.

Before you order

An internally illuminated fascia needs advertisement consent almost everywhere. A non illuminated fascia on a standard high street usually falls under deemed consent, but not in a conservation area and not on a listed building. Getting this wrong means removing the sign at your own cost. We check the position at survey and prepare the application where one is needed.

What we need to quote

  • Frontage width, or a photograph with a door in it for scale
  • Whether there is an existing tray and its condition
  • Illuminated or not, and whether power is already at the fascia
  • Your logo as vector artwork, or we can redraw it
  • Any lease or landlord conditions on signage

Common questions

How much does a fascia sign cost?

A printed panel on a sound existing tray starts in the hundreds. A fabricated aluminium tray with halo illuminated built-up letters usually runs into the low thousands. Illumination and fixing method move the price more than width does.

Do I need advertisement consent for a fascia sign?

For an internally illuminated fascia, almost always. A non illuminated fascia on a standard high street usually falls under deemed consent, but not in a conservation area and not on a listed building.

How long does a fascia sign last?

Ten years or more for a fabricated aluminium tray. Five to seven years for a printed panel outdoors before colour shift becomes noticeable.

What do you need to quote a fascia?

The frontage width or a photograph with a door in it for scale, whether there is an existing tray, whether it needs to light, and your logo as vector artwork.

Get a price for your fascia

Send a photograph of the frontage and the width. That is usually enough for a budget figure the same day.
